Yes, anxiety will cause this.  For me, I discovered that while sitting down that I was tensing up.  When I got up to walk, I felt dizzy and uncoordinated.  I would do some deep breathing exercises and all was right again.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.  - AnxietyZone member Sixpack

I didn't feel tense either.  Yes, they lasted for a few days.  It still happens on occasion.

Count me in. Has been going on for 3 weeks now. I'm off balance, legs feel heavy and tired, head pressure and tension. Anxiety is no fun. Just seems to be part of it for mem I will be fine and then boom. This is the longest so far so I'm hoping for some relief soon :)

Are you actually bumping into stuff? Falling down?

I had the feeling of being off balance but mine was cause my sinuses were messing up my inner ear and it felt more like the floor was moving up and down and that I was walking unsteady on the inside but outside I walked fine. It triggered my anxiety so bad that I have been in the bed a lot. I didn't have the spinning type of vertigo. And I walked perfectly straight on the outside.

It can be a symptom of anything. And yes anxiety can cause it. Like the above person said, you can be tense.

It can also come from middle or inner ear issues, sinuses and allergies and other things. Just try to relax and if it continues in the next few days, it won't hurt to see a doctor.

Ok. This sounds more like anxiety. If anything it could be an inner ear issue or something totally harmless. So I wouldn't worry too much. Anxiety will make it worse. It's an awful feeling to feel off on your feet. Maybe it will pass real soon for you.

What you described is very familiar to me as well. It can last long after the other anxiety symptoms have gone away. For me I think it's due to tension in my jaw and neck (I clench my jaw when I'm anxious without realizing it, and I even do it at night). I think this puts pressure on my inner ear and causes the feeling of disequilibrium/imbalance. Also, anxiety can directly cause me to feel like my legs aren't steady, like they don't quite move on cue. It can do this with my hands as well. If I let it freak me out, it gets much worse very quickly. If I can take some breaths and relax, it helps (though the disequilibrium/imbalance can continue for days and sometimes even weeks or months). Like Kmj023, I think there may be a component of seasonal allergies contributing to it as well. It does affect me more when my sinuses are bad.

I agree it could be the tension and the jaw clenching cause my muscles stay tense a lot. My tmj has been bad lately from all the stress. It could be why I feel the way I do. That and allergies. It's so hard to say what anything is anymore. Stress does soooo much to the body!

Wait. Tense muscles can cause this? If so, I think I just figured my problem out lol

The off balance feeling has been the worst for me as well. It's what's triggered my anxiety when the sinus infection had to effect my inner ears.
