Skin cancer...
« on: June 23, 2014, 05:37:38 PM »
I'm 18, and last year I got burnt for the first time ever, head to toe. My doctor said the one time wont harm me.
Today (more than a year later), I went to a water park and I put heaps of cream on, and I've burnt my forehead, nose and shoulders.
I'm so worried I'll get skin cancer and I don't want to die so young ;-(
It's constantly on my mind and the dermo is far from me and doctors to, can't afford to go up there...

Need cheering up, days feel numbered...

People get sunburned all the time with no ill effects.  If your face tends to burn I'd recommend a good sunhat.  You'll look ridiculous wearing it, but better than looking like an angry lobster for weeks after.  I can't do sunscreen on my face because I'm sensitive to something in it - it just burns like crazy.  No idea what.  The hat has been helpful, again, even if I look really silly in it  :laugh3:
