Here we go again.
« on: June 21, 2014, 09:46:09 PM »
I was literally cleared of a brain tumor or seizures yesterday - and today? I woke up with a horrible cold, so naturally I MUST have meningitis or n. fowleri. I keep checking to make sure I can still touch my chin to my chest.

So disappointed. I really thought that "hey, after I get the 'ok' from my neurologist, I can breathe."

...nope. Same stuff, different day.  :( ::)

This is how it goes. And it sucks. But you are fine. I'm sorry you have a cold. It would not surprise md of you caught it from the drs office.

My kiddo was complaining of a sore throat last weekend for a few days. Mine started off that way and now I'm a complete mess! Congestion, body aches, low grade fever, minor cough, ect.

I'm sorry. Colds can be horrible sometimes. Just eat soup, drink plenty of fluids and take vitamin c. Zicam is great.

Isn't that the worst? I hate getting clean bills of health only to get worked up about something else. Silly brain is silly.

Meningitis is a constant fear of mine... having a cold is not a sign of having it, its quite the odd leap. Colds are viral in nature, while the "scary" menigitis is bacterial. Viral meningitis is apparently no big deal. No worries, sorry you have a cold now

If you had meningitis, you wouldn't be on a message board.  It's the kind of sickness you don't think "hmm, maybe something's up," and sit around wondering about.

Feel better soon.

I'm sorry you didn't get peace of mind longer, but we all know that relief from tests is temporary at best.

WOW that WAS a quick transition.  Yep, that is the sad truth about h.a. and reassurance med testing etc.  It isn't the fix to the thinking disorder that everyone hopes.

I hope you get through the cold quickly.  Then you can really start working on what ails you  :happy0151:

Good luck and be well.

MOST anxiety occurs on a subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state
