CT Scan back in January.. do I really need another one?
« on: June 21, 2014, 11:41:48 AM »
I had a CT scan back in January for severe dizziness. Couldn't even drive. Had to call an ambulance. They did a CT scan of my brain said everything looked absolutely normal. Except for the nasty sinus infection. Even my cardiologist looked at it and said it was normal. At this point in time, I had ZERO headaches.
Fast foward to now...and I'm getting strange quick pressure headaches lasting maybe a few seconds on one or the other side of head.
YES I have had heavy feeling in cheeks near the eyes, like sinus pressure. But, I've also felt on and off hot as if I might have a mild fever. The pressure in my head is what is freaking me out ESPECIALLY coming from someone that has never had these weird headaches before. I'm also getting pains and aches in particular spots in shoulder. It's never 'everywhere' pain. it's always localized as they call it. Side of my head, part of my hand, a spot on my shoulder blade.

Could this all be sinus stuff PLUS my anxiet?? Especially since it sometimes comes on towards the neck area? Or are they cluster headaches? I just dont think it's anything super serious as I'm not having the thunderclap headache and I'm not waking up with them either.

I have a dr's appt scheduled with my internist Monday morning. Just for peace of mind. but any feedback would be appreciated. :) I doubt I would need another CT scan so soon..

I am not a doctor, but I can't imagine anything changing that quickly. See your doctor and see what he says. It sounds like anxiety, possibly sinuses and maybe strained muscles. I would think having a ct scan is over doing it. I don 't think I would do it

I didn't think so either..maybe if it had a couple years or a few..but I keep hearing from people usually things don't change that quickly.

I'll post my update once I get seen Monday morning.  :)

This time it's okay to trust your gut I think - you're right that it's almost certainly sinus-related and not serious.  I hope you get hooked up with some antibiotics that fix this problem once and for all.
