Is this thyroid issue?
« on: June 20, 2014, 05:36:20 PM »
I am having slight on and off sting pains up near the bone above your chest that means by the neck. Left side only. Not sure if I pulled something but if I did I figured it would be constant? I have had blood test done effort regular ones would that have any indication if I had thyroid issue? I may just be nutts. But you all know I feel lightheaded dizzy etc for months not sure of thyroid does that or anxiety

Normal blood work don't check thyroids at least not what I heard. But it can cause dizziness too.

No. Regular blood tests don't check for thyroid issues.

Also, you'd probably know if you had an actual thyroid issue. When I was first diagnosed with hypothyroidism, I was so tired all the time and gained A LOT of weight (went from 160 to 205 in like 2 months...). I think you'd be noticing a couple of strange symptoms if you were hyper or hypo.

No they wouldn't check for thyroid issues. But I agree, if you had a thyroid issue you would have a lot more symptoms. I have hypothyroidism and I was tired ALL the time, I gained a lot of weight and I felt very depressed. Then I was put on meds and now I'm fine! Nothing to worry about x
