EEG and neurology appointment tmrw
« on: June 19, 2014, 05:11:03 PM »
So tomorrow afternoon I have an appointment for an EEG and after that an appointment with my neurologist to get the results of both my EEG and my brain MRI that I had done with and without contrast last Thursday morning. I keep thinking that tomorrow my neurologist is going to give me the results of my MRI and tell me they found a tumor :-(

Goodness I hope not! I haven't received a phone call yet, so I'm taking that as good news. I'd like to think that if I had a brain tumor I would've received a call by now!

Alright, I'm on my way to get my EEG and then I have an appt with my neurologist at 330pm. His office told me to pick up the disk of images from the imaging center because the doctor likes to go over them. So I picked it up this morning and there is a copy if the report with it. It says normal MR of the brain. The only thing that was found was a small cyst in my sinuses (doesn't surprise me because I have pretty bad allergies). Praising God for the report. I know I've been quite a pain on this forum, and I want to thank everyone for hanging in there with me and for the encouragement along the way. Now off to see if I'm having seizures! Wish me luck! And thanks again guys!

Yayyyyyyyyy! I knew that you did not have a tumor!!! A cyst in the sinuses might can be removed to help up your allergies. I bet you are not having seizures either. But a big if you are, at least they will not kill you! But I have a feeling that they are probably not. Good luck and let us know!

No. Do not let that happen. It's just a cyst. I would talk to him about it and see what can be done to remove it!

Let us know how the EEG goes!  Yay for a clean scan.  The cyst in your sinuses is just a cyst - if you're that worried, ask your doctor about getting rid of it - I just did a quick google and it seems that with antibiotics and nasal steroids a lot of them go away, but that's mostly recommended for people whose are large enough to cause unpleasant symptoms.

Yay! This is wonderful news! It's always good to hear that someone who has the exact same fear as me DOESN'T have the dreaded disease! It gives me hope!

Both the MRI and EEG came up clear. My neurologist was actually impressed at how "clean" my brain looks (high five for "clean" brains?). He says that I'm having migraines with auras - strange smells, deja vu, ect. No seizures, no brain tumor. Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Wow! Yes. Migraines can cause that. Now move on with your life and do not second guess and do not ever google.  You are just fine. I'm happy for you!
