Empty, hollow feeling in chest
« on: June 17, 2014, 04:35:16 PM »
So lately, mainly when I am driving a car, I get this really empty, hollow feeling in my chest area. That's perhaps the best way I can describe it. Mainly the feeling persists at the left side of my chest. Had my doc check me up twice, everything came back clear. Does anyone recognize this weird sensation?

That sounds very typical of anxiety to me, and is a symptom I've experienced myself multiple times.

It's at least comforting to know I'm not alone feeling this weird sensation. It bugs the heck out of me.

Oh I know. First time I had it, I thought it was a symptom of some horrible disease or something. Then those thoughts made it worse, and I realized it was just anxiety  :P

You're not alone.  When I have bad anxiety, I feel like that all the time.  I also get that sensation when I'm excited, though, for some reason.  Very annoying but not a sign of something bad.
