please tell me im over reacting warning contains tmi
« on: June 16, 2014, 06:38:56 PM »
As ive posted before im having stomach and bowel movement problems. About the time we found out my hubbys place of employment is closing the doors I started having stomach and bm problems. It started with bad acid reflux. Still have that off and on. Then I went a week having diahrrea every day. At first I thought it was from what I ate. Now my bms are little and flat pieces. About the size of your thumbnail. After my bm my upper stomach will ache and cramp. I will have bm in morning and I usually have to go 3 times in about a half hours time. My hubby is also having some of the same symptoms. Main stomach issues. Ive been taking metamucil daily but doesnt seem to be helping. Yesterday my bm started out as almost diahrrea. Then next one was the pieces. Then a more formed but malformed one. I fugured from the meta. Today though its back to the small flat pieces.  Could my extreme state of anxiety and stress be causing this kind of bms?

Yes, I have issues with my stomach because of anxiety.

Does this happen when you eat wheat products? I have similar symptoms when I do because of allergies, which is not a big deal at all.

MOST anxiety occurs on a subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state

My stomach always does this when I have a bad anxiety attack or am overly worried.  I recommend eating the BRAT diet and try to stay calm... otherwise it's gonna keep happening.

Good luck!

I agree, it's the anxiety doing this. If your husband is having the same type of problem, but doesn't suffer from anxiety, I'm sure stress is a huge part of it too. I always get like that when I'm stressing or having bad anxiety issues.

Absolutely anxiety/stress.  Check out this article from Harvard Medical:  http://www.health.harvard.edu/healthbeat/the-gut-brain-connection
