Breast pain-tumor or what??
« on: June 13, 2014, 04:39:37 PM »
I used to get breast tenderness in BOTH breasts about a week before my period started, but after my daughter was born I never get that anymore.  Then last week I noticed a mild tenderness in just the left breast.  Sure enough my period started today, but the tenderness is still there.  So of course I've convinced myself that it must be a tumor (or some other fatal/horrible thing) and I'm worried sick.  Hubby says to wait it out through my period and see if it goes away then as he thinks it's related.  My logical side says that it must be a PMS/hormone thing, but my irrational side says it's bad because it's just in ONE breast.

Sorry to hear about your anxiety and worry.
I can relate to this as I went 2 years with no breast swelling, aches , etc... All of a sudden this last month they started hurting. It's because of hormones, the more you stress, the more the hormones can race around and cause all sorts of unexplained pains.
These things are common before, during and after the menstrual cycle.
We will never have the same period symptoms through out are lives, one year you might feel pain, the next you probably won't ;-)

Body is fascinating haha.

Don't worry :-)
