Red bumps on face
« on: June 13, 2014, 09:41:22 AM »
Hey all! I survived my (false) encounter with a brain amoeba, and I'm here with a much less scary but still upsetting. I have some red bumps on my face just above my moustache. They're kind of shiny, and when I scratched them (by reflex/accident), it started bleeding a bit. It was scaly like dry skin, but I've been washing and applying moisturizer every day for the past few weeks because of my dry (I assume?) red skin.

I applied some antibacterial cream to it when it started bleeding, but now I'm afraid it'll be some awful infection that will go to my brain... yep. Health anxiety for you.

I attached a picture of what it looks like... any help is appreciated. :( I don't really want a diagnosis per se, I just want to know if you guys have experienced this, and if so, how serious it is / whether or not I should see a doctor.

(Semi-related question: how do I get rid of red / dry skin? All the lotions in the world are doing nothing.)

I can't see a picture but it sounds like it could be eczema, in which case, see your doctor for a steroid cream.  It'll clear it up right away.
