Feels like I have a lump in my throat... FREAKING OUT!
« on: June 11, 2014, 03:15:02 AM »
The past couple of days, I've had a reoccurring feeling in my throat of a lump or something stuck in there. I'm trying to rationalize it out as being anxiety related considering that I've been worrying about going to my brother's graduation in the morning with a room filled with people, but the fact of being a smoker has me absolutely freaking that it could be throat/esophageal cancer. I noticed that it comes and goes, but today it's really prominent, especially right now. And I can't get rid of the feeling regardless of what I do-- either drinking something, swallowing, eating.

Please, please help me!!

This is 100% a typical anxiety symptom. You would be pushed to find a person with anxiety who has never had the famous lump in the throat. That is how common it is. If it doesn't clear up you could visit a doctor. If it is not anxiety it may just be something inflamed. Might give you something to take to clear it up.
