I just got diagnosed with GAD tonight. I'm wondering what some of your craziest symptoms are?

Hi Worried, I'm sorry to hear you were diagnosed with GAD.  But it's always good to know what you're dealing with.
I've dealt with GAD for 5 months now.  I don't have many physical symptoms.  But one general symptom is a sense of
dreading things for not logical reason.  And a feeling that I'm not as fully myself or having as much fun.

Buspar didn't work for me, but I'll be moving on to a new med soon.  Good luck to you.

I was diagnosed with panic but never actually have a panic attack so they said GAD but I get many physical symptoms (somanization) apparently. I get chest pain leg pain (rope sensation) tightness in jaw (TMJ) dizzy doom feelings. The works just some days on a lower level but it's always there

Sorry to hear but at least you are in the right place.

I personally hate the dry heaving in the morning (fortunately that part has gotten better). I also get a tightness in the stomach and have been dealing with some mild insomnia.

Thankfully we have this site to help us out.  Hope things get better for you soon!

Thanks y'all. I have so many physical symptoms that it isn't funny. I'm so scared that I have MS but the drs are missing it. Even though I have expressed my concern many times and they don't believe that I fit the criteria for MS. But, by far, the scariest symptom I have is being jolted awake with tightness in throat and gasping for air. Anyone else do this?

Yes definatly the throat thing.. I think it's called globes hysteria, anxiety related and won't hurt u! I thought for the longest time my symptoms were causing anxiety and not the other way around but I keep being proven wrong. When my anxiety and worry especially over my health and relationships calm down so do my physical symptoms

Asuka, sometimes I get tightness in my stomach on waking.  But I do some yoga stretching and deep breathing.
That helps.
