Hi everyone!
I'm brand new to the forum (found it after Googling) and wanted to intro myself, briefly.
I've a long history of panic disorder which reared it's ugly head 2 years ago after the death of my dad. Prior to that I've been panic free for more than 15 years (didn't miss the attacks trust me LOL!).  I'm not currently on any meds and am trying my best to deal with it but feel sometimes like no one "gets" this disease.
With that in mind, I started searching for others who understood and voila! Here I am!!

Welcome to the forum. Good to have you as a member. Here you are with like minded people. People who understand. As we all suffer from something or other. So feel free to ask any questions. Our members are always willing to help others out. Good chatroom too. 3 posts to enter the room.

Find the correct section of the forum that suits your condition and create a new topic on it. This is just a welcome section. Never really get the same amount of help in this section as you would on the other sections of the forums. So whatever one suits the questions you are asking. Get much better answers.
All users of the chatroom must be 18 years old or over. The room is off limits to anybody under the age of 18.

Hey houndlvr and all! I'm new too and wanted to say hello to some of the other new faces in addition to being able to chat. I have found most people on these online support forums are very helpful and personable. I've been suffering from panic attacks and PTSD for almost two years now and I need better ways of managing my stress more effectively. It's my hope to share info and learn some new methods to improve my quality of life. Here's to us!

Hi Singledad!
Welcome and thanks for responding to my post.
You saw I'm sure that I too have been diagnosed with PTSD and GAD.  The PTSD came as a shock honestly - I am one of those people who thought it only effected military guys (LOL).  I obviously know better now.  My diagnosis came after losing my dad and constantly reliving that last week he was with us here on earth.  It's been two years for me too - it's getting better for me but I realize I'm always going to have some work to do on myself.

I wish you lots of success here on this board - and anytime you want to chat, I'm here too!!
