I agree JER's story probably helped me more than any I read.

Well then, glad to know my words of wisdom (from a very very bad place in time)...are of some help to others still :)

And I have no problem being "the crazy girl from AZ who talked herself into clinical weakness"...as long as it helps others realize it's possible!! :)

Oh, and Rasal. I've followed your posts since your *** fear began. I agree completely with ShawnW here. I never suspected you had ***. Everything about your posts has convinced me that it is anxiety. You have absolutely no objective deficit.

Normally, people who are slurring/have bulbar onset are not the first to notice they're slurring. They often begin to compensate without realising (speaking slower) and are generally unaware that they sound off.

Rasal, YOU are not a good source of information about you.

Not to mention hoarseness/alteration to voice/possible emotional liability often come succinctly with slurring. Even in TZDenver's suspected case (don't google this; no f***ing really, don't) he alluded to emotional liability and had clinical weakness.

Do you have a link to the study you referred to? Or a name?

Ok, that part about hoarsness really scared the crap out of me. That is exactly my problem now, I can talk without slurring (at least according to others) but my voice get hoarse and strained in no time. Could hoarsness come from anxiety too? Anyone with the same problems, i.e. notice a hoarsness quite fast (and sore throat accompaning that)?

Is there any cause for hoarsness that isn´t ALS or some other MND? Actually I know there is, but my mind just blocks out everything in order to promote my fear of ALS even further. I´m literally at the point of wanting to end this. I was hospitalized recently and they gave me infusions of Anafranil (Klomipramin) and some drug against psychosis and after that little trip I´ve felt even worse. I really can´t go on like this anymore=(

Not in a while, last was 6 months ago. But I´ve had several doctors look at me from top to toe though, none finds anything out of the ordinary. Why?=)

Because if something were wrong it would have been evidenced during examination. How long have you had this fear?

Joyce, you need to stop googling. I promise you will not find anything more reassuring than what is outlined in this thread. Been there. Spent weeks reading about ___ and misconception surrounding it.
