Ct scan without contrast.
« on: May 27, 2014, 01:07:59 PM »
I have been dealing with sinuses and allergies since feb.  Started with me feeling off balance which sent my anxiety off like a rocket. I had ct scan this month. Without contrast. Of sinuses and saw top of my head. Head was clear. Ent said if I has tumor it would show up.

Do you think that if something like tumor was causing my problem or something else going on
With my brain that something would have showed up on ct scan without contrast?

I'm trying to stop worrying. This sucks. Google did all this to me. :(

Assuming the tumor was large enough to cause problems

Why not an MRI? I would hate for you to expose yourself to more radiation than you have to

I pray that you are a healthy individual :)

it would def show up on ct without contrast if you had a tumor. i think with a head ct contrast is more to see vessels and such like that.

if you need reassurance an mri without contrast would show too.

i had a ct without contrast and it showed the tiniest polp in my sinus so im sure something for you would have popped up if indeed something was there

I try to think yes it would show something cause it's been 3 months and the tumor would have grown my now and my balance after predinsone improved and don't think it would have done that for a nasty tumor. I've had no headaches other than my monthly migraine. And I don't freak out cause those are normal for me. Reading google said sometimes they are missed but it's very rare. I wish I could have MRI to feel better but no insurance right now. My drs knew my concern and both said I did not have one. Why is it so hard to trust them? But yet google we listen to. Ugh. :(

I do the same exact thing.

I always question my drs and listen to google. it is part of our illness and we just have to work through it. the best therapy is time. with time you will see you are just fine and dandy
