Itchy nipple - SO scared of Paget's.
« on: May 27, 2014, 10:38:23 AM »
This winter my left nipple was really itchy at times, especially when I was about to go to sleep. I've read that this could be a symtom of Paget's. The itchiness went away and I haven't felt it for about 3 months. I've read that Pagetīs symtoms sometimes go away for a period of time.

I' went to the doctor about this today, and she just said that Paget's is rare and that I shouldn't worry.

1. Does anyone know if you can have Paget's without eczema or redness? I've only been having itchiness.
2. Does anyone know if Paget's symtoms can go away for as long as 3 months?

Would LOVE to get answers! I'm so worried.

My nipple gets itchy a lot (kinda hard to scratch and rub it when it "flares" up in public!  LOL!)  It's probably just dry, you would have redness or SOMETHING.

My left nipple has been irritated a lot the past week. The right one some, but mainly my left. No redness or anything & it's mostly at night.

But I think we are ok. =]

Haha yeah I know! Hate it when the itching starts in public :) Thank you for the reply... makes me feel better to hear other people have the same thing!

This sounds exactly like me!

"Symptoms of early Pagetís disease of the nipple include redness and mild scaling and flaking of the nipple skin. Early symptoms may cause only mild irritation and may not be enough to prompt a visit to the doctor."

Do you recognize the scaling and flaking part?

I have no idea what Paget's is.

All I know is my left nipple has been acting all irritated without anything on the outside. Mostly at night.

Dry skin or irritation from clothing, soap, detergent, etc.  Or just one of those things - sometimes I get those itches too for no reason I can figure out; they eventually go away.

And even THAT doesn't mean Paget's.  My daughter had exactly that (flaky red patch on nipple and was freaking out about Paget's after Googling, but it went away and never came back.

A biopsy on what, an ITCH??    I'd go to another doctor, that one sounds like she has dollar signs for pupils.
