Is this normal???
« on: May 26, 2014, 12:38:14 PM »
I've noticed my ;left leg and left arm are slightly bigger than my right leg and right arm. I've been having a really bad day today with anxiety, and I'm wondering, is this normal? eing a hypochondriac, I immediately jumped to the conclusion that it's a blood clot, or that my leg is swollen. Even though it barely looks any different than my other side. I've also had this fear of potential Heart Failure, which I've had trouble shaking. This fear tends to come and go, and today it has been really bad. The last time I went to the doctor was last month, but the last time he listened to my heart was 3 months ago. He said it sounded fine.
I'm also overweight by 50 lbs I'm ashamed to admit, but I recently started exercising so I could get back in shape again.

So my question is, is it normal to be slightly bigger/heavier on 1 side than the other?

Thanks in advance!

Congratulations in getting to an exercise routine!!!!   What a big step and commitment!!

As far as your arm and leg being larger on one side than the other, I do believe that's typical of all of us.  No two parts on our bodies are identical.  Keep in mind too, the more you keep up with the exercise, the more it will benefit your health in the long run!!!

Thanks for the encouragement! It's appreciated! On top of a typical exercise routine, I've also taken up Tai Chi, which I've heard doubles as anxiety relief! :3

Congrats on beginning to exercise, I know it's helped me quite a bit. I've never tried tai chi but a nice brisk stroll on the treadmill is very relaxing to me. As far as your body parts being bigger on one side, I think that's pretty normal. My left is longer than my right and my right foot is larger than the left, I hope knowing that helps you some. Stay positive.
