More anxiety and same fears
« on: May 25, 2014, 02:30:21 PM »
Really worried about my hand.  To me it look like the muscles are smaller than other hand.  Very nervous that it's atrophy.  It's been sore all week.  Can't get out of my mind that this is the classical motor neuron disease symptom.  Still don't know if it's "weak" but that's too subjective for me.  I'm so frustrated and can't reassure myself that I am ok.

First of all, remember that no one part of our body is the exact same as the other!!  A lot of time our more dominant hand, leg, arm, etc is stronger typically than the other one.  If you look at your feet, you'll find they aren't exact either, and I'm sure that's probably what's going on with your hand.  If it causes you great concern ask your doc about it next time you see him or her.

When I see people writing about worries about different sizes in hands I remember being in middle school or thereabouts and sitting during a boring assembly, one girl wondered aloud, "why is one hand fatter than the other?"  This is literally true for every person ever.  Your hands are going to be slightly different sizes.
