Bad pack pain cause shortness of breath??
« on: May 25, 2014, 01:34:07 PM »
I'm 18 and yesterday I cleaned my house top to bottom and I bent down a lot (hoovering, mopping, etc...) today my back feels tense, and it now feels hard to breathe like I have force it or something, just have to mention I have a slight dust allergy too, hence all the cleaning.
So obviously my first thoughts are that I have lung disease or something wrong respiratory wise and that my days literally feel numbered and I'm scared...

All the work you did probably worked out your back and now it's sore, which can make it feel like it's hard to breathe because breathing in will stretch your back muscles and exacerbate the soreness. And then the anxiety will do the rest. The dust allergy doesn't help either but you'll be fine, don't worry. It'll pass.

For myself, I know when I've hurt something I tend to breath a bit more shallow.....for whatever reason, deeper breaths tend to make the pain just a tad worse for some.  Maybe alternate heat and ice on your back and in another day or so it should feel much better!!

Try a hot shower to loosen your back muscles.
