Prozac/Klonopin - anxiety after naps
« on: May 24, 2014, 07:41:50 PM »
I've noticed that ever since I started Prozac 20mg (and Klonopin 0.5mg as needed) about 6 weeks ago, whenever I wake up from a nap, I feel very disoriented and anxious. It takes me about 10 minutes of deep breathing before I start to feel normal again. It seems to only happen with naps and not when I wake up in the morning. Anyone ever experience this?

I almost always get anxious after naps, which is why I try to avoid them entirely. I don't know if it is because of your meds in your case, but I know a lot of us with GAD and PD experience heightened anxiety after napping.

I never thought about it but I get a little anxiety after naps too.  But I think the reason why is because my naps are so relaxing that having to wake up after a nice relaxing nap causes a little anxiety.  I'm on Lexapro/Klonopin. I just moved uo to 15mg and I am sleeping like a rock.  On the weekends I will take naps too because I feel so much relaxation from getting into bed and drifting off.  So I guess weigh the pros and cons of napping and the effect on your anxiety. I am pro-nap   :happy0151:
