are you constipated or having loose stool/diarrhea? If you are constipated try using miralax every day to regulate you. Miralax is not like a laxative like senna which is bad for you (because then your body relies it, you get melanosis coli... laxatives should never be used on a regular basis). Miralax is fine, though, it just adds bulk to the stool. Miralax has also been used for people with diarrhea, and again, to add bulk to the stool. Also one of the best things for constipation is drinking prune juice.
Sounds like you have irritation down there. Bright red blood means irritation down low.
Could be internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids, anal fissure (but that would hurt like hell), or just plain old irritation of the skin.
Take sitz baths. Use witch hazel pads to wipe with. White toilet paper only. NO colored/perfumed toilet paper. No thongs. Just wear cotton underwear and at night sleep without underwear to let air get to the area.

Sounds like it could be hems or an anal fissure. First I would make sure what you are seeing is in fact blood. Some  red foods do not fully digest so it could cause red bits or flecks on stool. Second watch how long it lasts. If it continues then see a Gastro doctor. I had blood streaks periodically on my stools for 1.5 years. I finally put my anxiety aside and saw my Gastro doctor and had a colonoscopy. I had a tiny polyp in my sigmoid colon along with internal hemorrhoids. My polyp was 100% benign and my hems will probably always be with me but thankfully they are small. I am 26 by the way.

My GI physician told me that anytime blood is seen when you go to the bathroom, the cause should be investigated.

I bet that's wants I is. When I eat carrots I notice them in my stool and sometimes on the TP. What they are defiantly orange not red.
