Scared I have gone mentally ill
« on: May 20, 2014, 11:05:23 AM »
This all started when I had episodes of frequent deja vu feelings and my constant fear over seizures and epilepsy from reading online material stating that deja vu is linked to epilepsy. Now things have gone worse i now feel completely dissociated from the world everyday feels like I am here but not here if you know what I mean, but today it's hit a new level I feel like I am not alive properly and that a lot of my dreams feel like real life. I get a lot of random old memories popping into my head too. I feel like I  am going mentally ill this has all started from my fear of seizures. What is happening to me? Am I going schizo? I am so scared

If you think you're going crazy, you're not. Someone in true psychosis doesn't realize it. I had psychosis induced by steroids during cancer treatment. I felt fine but everyone around me know something was off. In retrospect, I don't remember much of those few days.

That being said, you are suffering from a mental illness in anxiety. It causes real physical symptoms such as the depersonalization and derealization you're experiencing. It's a reaction to the stress and fear and over stimulation of your nervous system. Treat the real problem (anxiety) and you'll quell the symptoms.
