Dizziness for days. Any relief?
« on: May 19, 2014, 12:29:37 PM »
I've been having dizziness for days now! It all started with a bad bout of vertigo that was so bad and made me feel like I was going to faint. Now I'm all worried I'm gonna faint. It's consuming my thoughts and life.  Can anyone offer any relief? The last two years I've had my heart checked, MRI of brain and neck. CT scan of head and chest, bloodwork ect ect... I've had it all. I'm trying to stay positive but it's really interrupting my life. I also had a baby 5 months ago.

I know exactly what you're experiencing, my friend. Around Easter I was in church staring at the preacher doing his sermon and then something just clicked. Got very dizzy and lightheaded and felt like I was going to faint. No bueno.

What nihil said, it's adrenaline induced by panic. And most likely hyperventilation. Deep breaths and reassuring yourself it's just anxiety helps tons. :) Honestly dizziness is SO common with anxiety it's not even funny.

Congrats on the little one by the way. Just remember you're stronger than this stupid anxiety.

My first experience with health anxiety was when I was 13.  I was on a family vacation and one day at  dinner I just got really dizzy.  My parents told me to put my head between my knees and I"d feel better.  I didn't .  I was dizzy for the next 8 days straight.  Looking back, I just had no idea what was going on and we are on an island in the middle of no where so I'm sure I was just anxious and, as other's have said, full of adrenaline.  I made it though.  I've experienced this a few times since then.  Always scary, but try to remember that I've always been ok.

Thanks for the replys. I remember when my anxiety was really bad I was dizzy for 30 days straight. I finally went to the ER and was told it was anxiety. So I know it can last for a long time. Ive had extensive testing so im trying to remind myself that ive been through this before and nothing bad has happened to me. Easier said than done!
