Protein in blood - freaking out- has anyone had this?

I got a call that I have to have more testing due to this. Some of the reasons this occurs is pretty scary. Do any of you have words of wisdom?

Thanks to both of you for replying. I don't know what the exact test was as I had so many. It was some weird uncommon one. My diet is really good, so I don 't think that is a factor.

First - you blood naturally has protein in it so I assume your doctor said your blood protein levels were high.  While you mention "scary reasons" why this might occur, you also overlooked the fact that it can also be caused by something as simple as dehydration.

Drink plenty of fluids - not soda, juice or power drinks - but water, tea, seltzer, etc.

Let us know how you make out

Thank you Patmob. I also had a cold at the time of the test. I wonder if this can affect it.

Any type of infection, including a common cold can cause raised levels of protein in your blood.
