Could Lexapro raise blood pressure?
« on: May 15, 2014, 10:21:10 PM »
I've been taking Lexapro for the last 5 weeks and the last few days, my blood pressure is 155/95. It is so unusuall for me because I always averaged 110/75.

Thanks for reading my post.

Lexapro is much more likely to reduce BP, however, it is possible this a paradoxical effect, though I would have expected it to increase much earlier in that case. Could there be other factors? Are you under more stress than usual, or is your anxiety level higher than it has been? If in doubt get it checked by your doctor.

NOTE: I'm not a doctor, and particularly not yours, so there may be factors I'm unaware of. Therefore all advice is of a general nature and you should consult your doctor before following any of it, especially before changing med doses.
