Broken record time -lymphoma
« on: May 15, 2014, 05:24:30 PM »
I have had a lymphoma fear which has taken over my life for the past two years . It's been hell on earth .

I had a full blood count yesterday and it was completely normal . Is it okay to be almost 100 % positive that I'm fine and never did actually have this disease ??

I must draw a line under this for my own sanity I start a new job on Monday and would love to view this as my new slate !

Thanks guys this forum is a godsend

I was struggling with lymphoma worries pretty recently. I had swelling lymph nodes with pain in my neck, I had lost weight and I felt pretty convinced that I had it (or some sort of C-word....).

Well I got checked out for it, Doctor felt my lymph nodes, got a CBC done and everything. She noted that I seem to be healthy, no fever or anything and that in of itself is a very positive sign. My CBC was pretty normal and she told me that even with sneakier lymphomas, there would still be several abnormalities.

The C-Word is unfortunately one of those huge HA leaps we make that end up running our lives into the ground, both physically and mentally.

After two years, you'd know if you had lymphoma.  I've dealt with that fear a lot in my life, still am dealing with it, so I know it doesn't respond to logic, but...echoing the sentiment that you're probably fine just the same.  Good luck!

I can tell you that if there is no unexplained fever or weight loss, no lymphadenopathy, and the CBC is normal that a physician would not further pursue lymphoma.
