New and Freaking out a bit
« on: May 13, 2014, 02:37:50 PM »
I'm currently a 24 year old male, I've been battling with hypochondria since I was 20. In the summer of 2011 I felt a lump in my armpit. I went to 3-4 different doctors who all said that it isn't a lymphnode. They said it was a tendon and nothing to worry about. Around that time I had a cbc which was normal. Fast forward 3 years to 2014. Two nights ago I got a random impulse to feel my armpit. I did, and felt the same bump. I've been very stressed and it got me really worked up. I immediatly went to the urgent care. The Dr. said it is a lymphnode, bigger than normal, but isn't in anyway concerning to him and if it was something sinister it would have spread by now. I went to my family doctor the next morning where I saw my doctor and the physicians assistant. They both said that they were'nt in anyway concerned and said that after 3 years it wouldnt be isolated to 1 lymphnode which hasn't grown. She also said it was soft, and it may not even be a lymphnode. I'm just anxious over the whole deal. Should I be happy with the oppinion of the 3 experts? Not to mention those before who said it wasn't anything.
