Warm flushing sensation in chest, stomach, neck and arms
« on: May 12, 2014, 03:48:51 AM »
I keep getting this warm feeling that starts in my chest and spreads up to my neck, arms and face and sometimes down to my stomach.  I tried googling it - bad, I know - and all I get are results for menopause (turning 31 this month so likely not), acid reflux (not that kind of burning sensation!) and carcinoid syndrome (trying not to worry about that yet).  My skin doesn't actually look red or flushed as far as I can tell (maybe it is though?  It's the middle of the night and there isn't much lighting in here.)  Last night it came and went, but right now it's sticking around.  It's pretty unpleasant.

Hmm... it's like a burning feeling? Not actually painful, right? I get random burning sensations when I'm anxious (face, tongue, arms, feet, neck, etc.). Sometimes it's related to my nerves and high anxiety can be hard on nerves.

Yeah it's not painful, just warm, like I have a heating pad on or something.  I wondered if it might be a shiny new anxiety symptom but wasn't sure.

The symptoms of peri menopause can begin 10 years before menopause.  Your hormones might be fluctuating. What you are describing are classing menopause symptoms.   Mine always occurred at night. I had ONE hot flash during the day.  BTW... menopause symptoms can last 10 years after your period ends but can also last the rest of your life in some women.  My 83 year old mother still has menopause symptoms!

I have carcinoid. From my understanding, the flushing is usually pretty severe. I flush easily and it has nothing to do with my tumor.
