If none of these answers apply to you.. choose one that's the closest?  And then.. write how it's affected your life below?

Hi, I answered it doesn't much anymore because I have not let it get the better of me....I have pushed through my fears whenever they appear....although it is uncomfortable at times I still get through it.

I chose:  It used to cause phobia.  GAD is still around but I manage it better.  I'm also taking buspar and use ACT therapy.

Yesterday I led a Meetup group in Chicago for GAD folks.  10 people engaged in a great discussion of our experiences of GAD and
what helps us.

I wish there was anxiety groups where I live, there are depression and alchol/ drug abuse. I feel so all alone and alone in this journey.

Adelle, do you think you could start an anxiety group?  Have you ever visited Meetup.com?
For me, there were no GAD groups in Chicago, just shyness.  So I started one last Saturday.
Very good experience.

I get out and about doing things but this constant suffocation feeling 24/7 is making life miserable.  I'm doing all I can on my own  to get it turned around but to no avail.  I am hopeful that with the help of a therapist and possibly a med, I will be like how I was before this all started 15 weeks ago.  I will be back to my normal self.

Ida, I wish you much luck in turning things around.  Some things that were helpful for my GAD:
physical exercise each morning, being part of a Meetup group for folks with anxiety, taking buspar,
being open with friends about my GAD.

I know that 42/7 feeling of suffocation or dread.  Like a bad dream you cant awaken from.
ACT therapy was very helpful for me too.  I learned to not fear my anxiousness, but rather to befriend it.

I feel like I'm too damn aware of everything. Things which are minor annoyances and set backs in daily life suddenly become terrifying and feel too much to handle.

I have trouble making time for, and enjoying, things I used to. I feel in so many ways the anxiety has eaten my soul.
