Liver fears
« on: May 09, 2014, 10:21:25 AM »
I am in terror of my next blood work results.  I go on Thursday to see what my liver enzymes are.  From January to early March they have risen each time I had bloodwork.  It is now 2 months of clean eating and I am so hoping they are back to normal.  Here are my numbers.

January 7,   ALT 31,  AST 29,  GGT 105
February 10,  ALT 54, AST 34,  GGT 63
March 10,      ALT 70,  AST 37,  GGT 90

Do you think my liver could be stressed because I'm cleaning it out.  Your thoughts on this would be much appreciated as I don't know how I am going to manage to get through the next 6 days because I can't take anything for anxiety.  Since January I have eaten mostly organic food and cut out all carbs and sugar and alcohol of course.  Up until my last numbers I was taking supplements recommended to me by a naturopath but when I saw the last results I stopped even them.

Liver enzymes are affected by many things, from medications, from food, from changes in food, from hormones, many, many things. vitamins, chronic stress, etc.  The important thing is, what does you doctor say?  Liver enzymes are not static, either. I'm no doctor, but I've seen enough people report on their liver enzymes going up and down that if I had a dime for each, I could put myself through medical school.
