endocarditis
« on: May 07, 2014, 08:29:38 PM »
5 weeks ago, my cat deeply scratched my hand
I went to the urgent cRe and was prescribed augmentin. A week later, i developed low grade fever and the dr said i have ear infection and prescribed me amoxicillin. The fever went away but ive been getting weird heart palps. They would stop beating for 1 second and do a  big thump anx sudden head rush. I would get these about 50 times a day whether im laying down or sitting. I did have splinter hemorrhages under my nail which is a symptom of endocarditis but it went away. I did have heart palps before due to anxiety but it was more skipping heartbeat and no head rush. Now this is a new type of heart palp. Someone please help me

I worried about endocarditis myself for a long time a number of years ago.

You don't have it.  I would bet everything I have on that.

And splinter hemorrhages are harmless 99.99999% of the time.  I asked my doctor about them once.  He said it was nail damage, and I've noticed that he's right - a lot of times they'll pop up if I bite or otherwise damage my nails.
