Idea for Hypochondria Forum
« on: May 07, 2014, 02:39:22 PM »
I noticed we have an MS sticky. Would it be possible to aggregate facts about common health fears in the same format? Obviously we do not have a personal physician, but certainly we could pool substantiated information about recurrent anxieties to relieve general fears about them. This might include things like occurrence statistics, studies, diagnosis, prognosis, progression, or addressing misinformation about the illness/ailment/disease/whatever. Another member today, our resident vet, pointed out to me the power of rationalizing and it really has been a fundamental artillery in helping me cope and I'm sure it would help and has helped others.

The search function works well for discovering relative personal incidents, but I think there's a place for 'Rationalization Stickies'. What do you guys think?

I haven't submitted this yet to the improvement sticky, so if you feel like it is a good idea feel free.
