mood swings?
« on: May 20, 2008, 10:32:14 AM »
I've noticed that my mood changes drastically withing a second when I start to feel my symptoms, like weakness and tingling. I guess this is normal? but I hate this feeling...the difference is like night and day.   B-;

Mine are always related to PMS....... though times when that's not the case, when anxious about something I tend to "get mad at myself" for letting it happen, and that affects my mood.....

Yeah, panic can switch in an instant, because our minds can shift that quick!

I get mood swings too, but I think it's an effect of my Lexapro. I'll go from really giddy to really angry and vice versa, and usually when I get my panic attack symptoms I get really angry.

Oh do I know about that.  I can usually handle things quite nice but as soon as I get the tingly fuzzy feeling crawling up my neck and into my head...the smallest thing will have me in a frenzy.  I try to take my klonopin as soon as it starts cause many times I will head right into a panic attack.

I don't notice a change in myself when I get anxiety/panic attacks. However, my mother will tell you differently!  :laugh3:  She says when anxiety strikes me, I'm not rational and there is no talking to me at all. She's says I don't think clearly and my eyes sort of glaze over - like I'm very distant and not even really there. Weird!

And I suspect that she's not making this up.  :spineyes:

When my small kids were arguing, etc., or when I was faced with any "fight or flight" scenario I would have an outburst. I obviously couldn't run out of the house on my kids so I would explode in anger--shaking, hot flashes, etc. I just did not know how to cope mentally or handle it emotionally. I know it's not the answer for everyone, but taking an SSRI (Paxil, for me) has calmed me down tremendously so that my moods are MUCH more stable and, when faced with a crisis, I don't overreact. It's been a God-send for me.
