Hello.

I seem to find my way back here every time i get overwhelmed because this forum usually puts my mind at ease. I've been having very uncomfortable symptoms the last couple days. Basically, my regular pounding heart palpitations haven't been around the last few days and it's worrying me, but also what's worrying me even more is every time i seem to get up or lay down i get this pressure in my chest and in my head, exactly like a head-rush only in both my heart and head. It makes me feel very uncomfortable because it also makes my heart feel like its skipping a beat. It is extremely uncomfortable and very frightening. Anyone else have this problem? I'v only had Xrays , ECG and bloodwork done, my last test were 2 weeks ago. I have never had a ECHO , stress test or a halter monitor. So i'm scared to death something is wrong. I have to wait till monday to see my doctor but i'm afraid i may not last that long. I'm afraid if i ask him to send me for more tests he won't , i feel as though my symptoms are not taken seriously enough whether it's my GP or at The emergency room, even though they probably are taken seriously. I don't know what to do. You guys always seem to put my mind at ease when i post on here, any advice?

Thank you :)

Sorry you're going through this but lets look at what you said "my regular pounding heart palpitations haven't been around the last few days and it's worrying me"  so you're worried because you're not having pounding heart palpitations?

If you go to the doc complaining of a head/chest rush while standing, they will first look to your BP as a head rush when changing position like that is a classic symptom of someone with low BP.  If you are as anxious as you sound, you're probably not eating right - do yourself a favor and a good sized portion of lean protein along with a big glass of water.  A banana will also help if you happen to be low on potassium.  Even if your BP isn't low, I bet this will make you start to feel better in a couple of hours.

Stay away from sugar and processed foods.

Yeah i know it sound strange but whenever my symptoms change or go away it worries me when it shouldn't. I have had my blood pressure checked last time i saw my doctor he said it's borderline high. He said it was nothing to be too concerned about , he said he's not surprises since i'm always so anxious. He gave me a script for Propranolol but i am afraid to take them. I take painkillers for my back and knees (i was in an accident a while back and they were prescribed by a specialist rather than my GP) and i'm afraid to mix them.

If you go to your doctor and he identifies an issue, in this case borderline high BP, then he prescribes a treatment which you refuse to follow why are you surprised when it doesn't get better?
