Four months this Monday
« on: April 30, 2014, 06:59:08 PM »
This Monday will mark four months of my nonstop calf twitching. I know they'll still be there come Monday, so why not celebrate? Four months of twitching in my calfs (mainly left) and other spots not as frequent has to definitely tell me I don't have ALS. While I've read some stories about doctors saying wait three months, four months, six months and even eight months. I personally believe that if this was the big one, I'd have experienced weakness by now (knock on wood). Trying to get my anxiety  under control. I feel like this is a big hurdle! Accept what's happening and be positive! Thank you everyone who's helped me on here!

I'd also like to mention I refuse to get an EMG and spend more money on potentially health anxiety issues. I believe this is also a breaking point for us HA sufferers. Three doctors visits roughly three weeks after the twitching and all good neuro exams point away from ALS. I'm also 22.

I first noticed twitching when I was 15.  I just turned 46 and no ALS!  I notice it more when I'm anxious and/or tired.  It has never gone away and it has never gotten worse.

Stay positive!  You're fine.

Nk, in my opinion you are doing the right thing by not paying for and EMG.  I wouldn't either.  Also, repeated doctor visits only increase anxiety, I know.  I will be seeing a neurologist in June and I really wish I hadn't started this whole process.  It is freaking me out.

You are handling your twitching commendably.   :happy0151:

Eh, mine feels worse but it's not that bad. I've developed small cramps but it is what it is..

What are you going for? Well, it's been four months of twitching and small cramps so I figure I'd be weak by now if it were serious. Knock on wood.
