Success on Zoloft!
« on: April 27, 2014, 09:38:44 PM »
I just wanted to come back and post that after a long road of anxiety and severe depression I started Lexapro and continued on this for 4.5 months with many ups and downs (horrific downs) as well as terrible headaches at least 15/30 days a month. I switched to Zoloft a month ago and am happy to report I feel great and anxiety/depression free and have not had a headache in a while. I never thought I'd be able to write this post since I surly thought I'd be in a psych hospital long term it was that bad. It still amazes me where your brain can take you-what a scary, terrifying place that is. Thanks for all your support on this site, it truly helped me get through some hard times.

Lynn; did your dizziness go away? Was the dizziness from the medicine or from anxiety?

Once I got on the zoloft my dizziness disappeared. My depression and anxiety left and the dizziness shortly thereafter. After being on lexapro 4.5 months I still never felt quite right...like I could slip into severe depression at any moment. I really think my headaches, dip in mood (then off the deep end into the pit of hell), and dizziness was a vicious cycle I couldn't break. I haven't had any of these since being on Zoloft.

So glad to hear that Zoloft is working so well for you! How wonderful! What dose are you on? I went up to 100 mg last weekend because I was starting to feel anxious again and feel a bit better than I did before. I may have to go up again though. It has changed my life since I started it. It really is amazing.

I'm glad that you found the right fit with zoloft.  For me lexapro works really well for my OCD and I don't really have any side effects, but we're all so different -- perhaps someday they will come up with a test to determine what med(s) would be best for each of us right off the bat.  I know that pit of hell your brain can take you to.  I've been there.  So glad your feeling better!
