Hi all, my name is Cory! It doesn't seem like many people check the introductions but I thought I'd drop in and say Hey. I've been frequenting this site a lot in the past 6 months and it has helped a lot. I'm trying to commit myself to CBT though, which requires I refrain from reassurance. I was in an OCD program for about a month and I learned a lot. I'm here to help myself and I hope to help others!

My biggest fears are heart related. (Worried I've had a heart attack in the past/will have one in the future; worried I have cardiomelagy, CHF, heart disease, you name it)
I also fear I'm going to die of an asthma attack. (I do have asthma and bad allergies)
My fear mostly manifests itself through compulsive checking, testing, obsessing/ruminating, and depression. I use to have a lot of panic attacks, haven't had one in awhile.

Everyone tells me I'm fine including doctors but I've yet to believe them. ;)

Welcome to the forum. Good to have you as a member. Here you are with like minded people. People who understand. As we all suffer from something or other. So feel free to ask any questions. Our members are always willing to help others out. Good chatroom too. 3 posts to enter the room.

Find the correct section of the forum that suits your condition and create a new topic on it. This is just a welcome section. Never really get the same amount of help in this section as you would on the other sections of the forums. So whatever one suits the questions you are asking. Get much better answers.
All users of the chatroom must be 18 years old or over. The room is off limits to anybody under the age of 18.

Hello Cory,
Nice to have you on here. I actually just read your introduction and found it insightful and helpful. I identify with you it seems. My fears also revolve around heart attack. I've been working on CBT.  I know that neither one of us should rely on reassurance...but, it's nice to know other people have they same issues and our coping too - solidarity.
I'm fairly new to this site (past week or so).
I hope to stay in contact though, because I really commiserate with you as I see our similarities in anxiety.
