What do your anxiety chest pains feel like?
« on: April 21, 2014, 10:55:22 PM »
I think talking about this will help people calm down when they think they're having heart attacks, so I'll share mine first. It's right in the middle of my chest, I guess it would be called a dull ache. It's what I imagine a heart attack feels like but without all the other symptoms. Sometimes I do feel pain in my left arm at the same time as the chest pain but that could just be hypochondria causing my brain to do that. It happens once a day usually even without any other anxiety symptoms. I've had the same chest pains since I was ten and had them checked out and they told me it was anxiety. So, what does your anxiety chest pain feel like?

My chest pains are rarely in the same spot every time. I'll get them underneath each rib, in the center, upper chest, under my left armpit, sometimes it'll even feel like I can feel it in my back. Never had heart problems and have had an EKG and echocardiogram done and everything was fine. I believe mine are most likely acid reflux related since they almost always go away after eating and come hours after eating a meal when my stomach is empty.
