fear of dwelling and dizziness
« on: July 06, 2006, 02:12:30 PM »
I have two main fears.  One is dwelling.  An example of dwelling would be if I see a disturbing movie or I see a person that looks kind of weird or scary.  I then get scared that I will not be able to forget about what I saw and I have this horrible fear that I will never be able to get it out of my head and I will go crazy.  Usually when a situation like this occurs and I see something I get scared for a few hours and then the thought goes away.  And when I do see something that bothers me I will forget it for a while but once in a while I will be wanting to do something like play golf at a specific golf course or go somewhere to eat.  What happens is a little voice in my head says if I do play golf at that specific course or if I go eat at that restaurant I will never forget what I saw earlier or whatever it was a few days ago.  My other main fear is being dizzy all of the time.  I get dizzy spells every once in a while and I freak out and they get worse.  Now everyday I am checking to make sure I am not dizzy.  I deal with this most of the day.  I am on Celexa but I really do not think it helps that much.  Is there anybody out there like me or am I the only one?

You are not the only one...dwelling on things is one of my big issues.

Mine are anything that bothers me, I start to obbsess over it until I either fix the problem or get exhausted and fall asleep.  My other issue isnt dissiness but it is nausia..I have a hard time eating most days.

Actually I am doing quite well now as I did behavior therapy.  I will tell you if you can do it, get into behavior therapy...It helped more than any pill or regular therapy ever did.

If you can change the way you think, you can change how much you suffer   :)
