Fighting HA head on...
« on: April 18, 2014, 12:46:13 AM »
I found another lump in my lower neck... i don't know if it has been there for long, it seems big (husband said 1cm..), it moves around. I think it is a lymph node. I just came back from an ultrasound for another lump i had found in my neck and that was benign!! So i am kinda pissed to be worried about a new one. I wanted to go to the doctor tomorrow but husband said i should fight my demon (HA) instead.

Should I???  :fragend005: I don't even think i am capable of that and plus i keep touching it and thinking the worst. I keep looking at my 6 months old daughter and thinking that soon she won't have a mom  :traurig001: I am a mess and yet i am tempted to kick HA ass by ignoring the lump...

Has anybody ignored their HA? I could use some reassurance to give me the courage...  :(

I ignore it all the time, because my family has always had this "if it doesn't get worse, it's nothing bad" kind of mentality.  So I just wait things out.  With each of my experiences, it's gone away on its own with time.  Except this time, I'm still in the middle of it.  I'm sorry you have to worry about this. ):

Terrified of doctors or bad news? Do you ignore your symptoms until you can't anymore and then go to the doc.... or you never go to the doc? Sorry for the questions it's just i ALWAYS go to the doctor as an HA lol

Here's what I've done: I found a good psychiatrist. As you know, they are MDs, so they are knowledgeable. I talk to him about what I'm feeling. He helps me to figure out if its HA or not.  It has taken time but I am getting better at knowing what is real and what is not. I won't lie: it's hard, but it is better than running to dr after dr after dr.
Good luck and peaceful thoughts,

I go to the Dr all the time like you except now it seems most of the Dr's and specialists don't give a crap. I have been patient up until now but enough is enough. I'm going to tell these Dr's off(seems like they are rushing me and don't care) and I will just live with these symptoms(like a 1000 lol :'(

I think all of it.  I get squeamish at the sight of the instruments and even waiting rooms make me anxious when I go with my grandma.  I can't watch my dogs get annual shots and such.  Definitely a fear of bad news as well.

Thing is, I have only really had symptoms that weren't sinus/cold related one other time in my life and I ignored it and never went.  It went away after about two months.  This time it's also been two months but the pains are getting better so once again I probably won't go unless they get bad again.  You can ask anything, it's fine!
