Skid marks (sorry for being gross)
« on: April 17, 2014, 08:21:54 AM »
Hello,
I started to have Irritable Bowel Syndrome acting in my early 20s. I had long period with no problems but it started to act again (I am now 40). I had tests recently (colonoscopy (3 years ago), upper endoscopy (two months ago) and even a CT scan (6 months ago)). I take an antispasmodic (Trimebutine) and now my stools are less messy. Still, I most of the time leave skid marks on the toilet bowl (this started I guess 9 months ago). I talked to my gastroenterologist who told me that is nothing to worry about and that is not weird if it happens when my stool are loose and soft. Still, I am somehow convinced that I have a kind of malabsorption problem :-( I now have noticed that these skid marks happen even when the stool are not so soft.
So I ma just wondering: is it kind of normal that stool leave skid marks (when formed).
Thanks for your answers !

I don't know what you mean by skid marks in the toilet bowl.  I heard that term used when talking about one's underwear.  Can you explain a little?

Oh!   Well, maybe there is some soft in with the hard.  Or some soft ON the hard, and when it gets flushed it just rubs on the bottom and leaves the marks.

Happy you liked it ;)
The thing is that I somehow developped a fear on pancreatic cancer. I read that when you have pancreatic issues, your stool might be oily, sticky and leave skid marks. I have to say I even do not remember if I used to make skid marks before it started to be an obsession.
