dry gangrene

This is my biggest fear. My cat deeply scratched my hand 2 weeks ago. Its still sort of swollen and bruised. Im so scared that im going to have gangrene. Someone please help me!!!

Thankfully, your symptom is the exact opposite of dry, shrunken and dark, nearly mummified in apperance. If you don't have those three symptoms, the chance of it being dry gangrene is effectively 0.

I know that those symptoms happen at the very late stages. I was wondering how long these stages take? Couldnt find it on google

don't google dry gangrene, silly. Google your symptoms and look for the most likely cause, not the worst possible cause.

It was probably a deep scratch that got a little infected.  if it's not warm or painful don't worry about it.  I've had cat scratches that take weeks and weeks to heal - the worst was a set of deep ones on my butt cheek.  My cat decided to use me as a springboard to jump onto my dresser.
