Leg Heaviness and Heart Related Stuff
« on: April 16, 2014, 03:39:22 PM »
For the past week, my legs, particularly from the middle of my legs down, have been feeling like I've been having bricks in them. With physical activity, they begin to feel weak and spasm, making me fear a possible blood clot or impending heart issue. This morning, while and after dancing, I experienced dizziness and lightheadedness, almost fainting. It ceased within a few minutes of stopping the activity and laying down, but I've also been having left arm pains as well. They are short, but worry me. After eating today, I felt the middle of my jaw [middle of the bottom row of my teeth] throb for no apparent reason and I fear that something's going to happen soon. Jaw pain is pretty atypical of my usual pain. I do usually have sinus issues, but random throbbing in my jaw is not one of them. Is there any way for me to relax and not fear the heart issues? I'm 16, with no family history of heart issues, last EKG was almost a yr. ago....?

all the symptoms you describe can be caused by anxiety. now what is more likely? that its anxiety or its one of the problems you think? you are young you should not need to worry about your heart. I know a lot of times my legs feel like jello like they are so heavy when im having anxiety. you will be just fine you just have to realize that anxiety will put anything it can in your head to make you scared in to thinking there is something else majorly wrong with you but when it comes down to it and ya really think about it ya know its just anxiety causing you these symptoms.

The thing is, these symptoms happen in every day life, when I am calm and doing stuff. I'm so used to having symptoms. It's all awful. :(

Anxiety symptoms can follow you around even when you're not feeling anxious in the moment.  All part of the fun :P
