Brain tumor
« on: April 14, 2014, 12:18:14 PM »
We'll everyone I'm pretty sure I have a brain tumor. I'm freaking out right now. I'm at the hospital right now. And the doctor won't do a MRI he said do you really want to radiate your brain. He said I don't have enough symptoms. I'm scared to death. No wonder I always have the unbalanced feeling

"This is your anxiety....it's not a brain tumor." You need to tell this to yourself over and over and over and breathe deeply.

You don't have a brain tumor. Anxiety makes me feel dizzy, lightheaded, off balance. I had twitching all over my body, numbness, you name it. I had workups for it as well, a head CT scan and an EMG. I have been down this path with brain tumor fears, so let me reassure you...

I went to the neurologist CONVINCED I had a brain tumor and I will tell you what he told me verbatim. "I can tell if someone has a brain issue watching them walk down the hallway to the exam room." There are SIGNS that people on the outside can SEE, not just physical symptoms you experience.

My friend had a brain tumor and her first SIGN was she stopped being able to speak over the course of a week. ONE WEEK. SHe didn't have symptoms other than some confusion before that happened.

BREATHE. And listen to the doctor.

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

You're doctor has spent more time and money than most to become qualified to diagnose you.  He/She does not want you to have to put yourself through unnecessary and costly tests that may only increase your anxiety.

I know its hard to grab ahold to sanity when your anxiety is in the driver's seat.  Im there once a day.  Just trust that your sound minded doctor probably knows of a few other safer and less costly tests to check you out :)

I've been unbalanced for about 8 years already (no pun intended here  ;D)
I never went to a doctor, because it never progressed I had to assume it was nothing.
Your doctor would give you the MRI if he thought it warranted it, apparently he doesn't. Doctors are test crazy and the fact that he WON'T test you should tell you something.   If they use radiation in that you will only be exposing yourself to unnecessary things that will cause REAL problems in the future if used too much.
