I get that (I don't know what asthma feels like so I can't relate or comment on that), but sometimes it feels like I have to go by a window to get more air. It's a very unsettling feeling! I hate that! It just feels like a heavy inner pressure on my chest. Then there are the other times where I HAVE to keep taking deep breaths to get that "satisfaction". Maybe if you try that "square breathing" - breathe in 7 seconds, hold it for 7 seconds, breathe out for 7 seconds and keep doing that and see if that helps. It's REALLY hard at first because as you are breathing out you REALLY want to take that quick breath in! But don't. If it's anxiety it will start letting up and you'll breathe normally.
