Is this acid reflux or ov ca??
« on: April 13, 2014, 09:23:22 AM »
I'm noticing that when I eat I feel a little sick/nausea afterwards.

I do have acid reflux as I can hear it bubbling into my throat. But I'm worried it's from ov ca instead...

Anyone?

Sounds like reflux and anxiety to me. My GI physician told me that in many cases, the cause of nausea is never found.

The other issue I have is an aching near my right ribs. It feels just as bad when I lay down or what I press against a chair. That's worrying me as I've read that back pain that does kotg go go away when lying down is a red flag for cancer.

The only thing that's keeping me going about it is that I've had it on and off for nearly 4 years. When it started it was the same time I developed anxiety. Also at this time I had an abdominal MRI to check a liver cyst. I was having the back pain then and I asked the specialist GI about it and he said it was not the cyst causing the back pain. Nor was there anything to see on my back bones etc as his words were that the MRI is pretty good at seeing the bones. (I actually have a post about this on here from jan 09!. My gp at the time said it was gastritis. I'm taking omeprazol ago again now but I'm feeling little relief.

So why am I worrying?!?! I've not had the back pain constantly for 4 years it flares up and down and is rife when I am anxious.

I know I'm asking for reassurance here but could this be gets related too? Or just anxiety rather than the dreaded ca???

Anxiety causes both reflux and tension, which is far more likely to be your problem than C.

Are you doing anything to treat your anxiety? Starting at the root of the problem is a smart choice.

I had severe burning back pain when I ate anything, when I was diagnosed with an esophageal
ulcer back in June 2005, which was discovered through an EGD.

Did you still have it if you lay down Marc?

What did you treat it with?
