Hi everybody,

Well been reading everyone's post and it looks like you guys have allot of health anxiety, I probably should to seeing as my health is *****, but no I never worry about my health unless it's something a good rest, relaxation and meds won't heal, and so far I haven't come across that. My biggest fear however is intense,I fear two things, 1. Being a burden on my family
2.Brain fog, dr/dp won't ever go away, and will increase I intensity
3. Completely, irreversibly losing my mind

These fears are so real to me,I think about them night and day, all the time. It just never leaves my head like a broken record it plays over and over. When these fears come on sometimes I can deal with them (difficulty) and then sometimes they result in a full blown panic attack, which seems to last and last. Ugh this really sucks but somehow through God's grace I manage..

Peace and blessings

Yesterday I was doing so well, then I woke up and now I feel anxiety. I woke up with a headache and my stomach doesn't feel good. I know it's probably stress and the need to use the bathroom but my brain jumped a few meters and went to the worst case scenarios of brain tumor and colon cancer again. My grandma getting a colonscopy today probably didn't help.. I need to go eat breakfast and play some video games.

Lymphoma for me,or any type of cancer. Some days I feel better and think 'well I've had a few lymph nodes that I believe have shrunk over the last 2 months I've had them and haven't grown unless I play with them and my doctor wasn't worried so there's nothing wrong' but then I just think that everyone might just be wrong and I may have something wrong with me and that scares the hell out of me. It's a nightmare to be in this state of mind where I feel trapped and feel alone. But sometimes I just feel so selfish moaning about these things when there's people who do genuinely have it and I probably don't. I hope one day these fears leave us all to get on with our life instead of ruining it.

My fears are typically symptom based.

Wow, great response to this thread! Yep, once I listed out my fears to the world, I felt loads better yesterday and was actually able to enjoy the rest of the day and night. Still a little anxious this evening (getting a little chest tightness, but in reality is probably some spring allergies or an onset of a chest cold), but able to think much more rationally about it all. It was nice though to have almost a solid 24 hours of being able to be more like me and it is helping me even now just reading your responses.

Lily, you nailed all of my fears. I fear the exact same things! I fear working out so much. I am getting worse with even walking too fast fearing I'll over work my heart. It's so sad. I also fear never recovering from this anxiety and depression. When I deal with it I always fear that I won't recover but I always have. Great post! I don't feel so alone.

i think my biggest fear when it comes to health-related things is dying of something very sudden that wouldn't leave me any time to get help. even worse if it happens in public (probably the reason why my symptoms are ten times worse when i'm in public). on the flipside, i have a massive fear of being diagnosed with something terminal and being told i only have x amount of time to live. i can't think of anything worse than that.

I am still wide awake so I'll give this a shot, in hopes it might help me relax and sleep.

I've had right-sided numbness for a week now, arm, leg and trunk.  My doctor did not brush me off as I expected and ordered several blood tests (8 vials of blood!) and a CT scan of the brain.  I'm waiting to hear about the blood tests and still need to schedule the CT.  I'm agoraphobic and really, really, really don't want to undergo a CT.  I'm hoping my problem is just a simple dietary deficiency like B12, so I'm actually scared that my blood tests will be normal.  :laugh3:

I'm picturing lying on the scanner table and the technicians rushing in and saying, "We have to run another scan with contrast because we see something! (insert dramatic music)" or "You have to have an immdiate MRI because we see something! (more dramatic music)" or "The neurosurgeon is on his way to see you! (etc.)"

I'm afraid I have a brain tumor and will suffer horribly and then die prematurely and my wonderful son, who is 12 and homeschooled, will have to go back to school.  I'm afraid I've had a stroke and the numbness and tingling is permanent and I will have lots more strokes and be disabled and a burden to my husband and son.  I'm afraid I have progressive MS and will be disabled and a burden to my husband and son.  I'm afraid they will never find out what is wrong and I will be twitchy and nervous about my health for the rest of my life.

Believe it or not, this was surprisingly helpful.  Seeing it all in black and white makes it a little more manageable somehow.

Pain and suffering, as I saw that in my parents.
Being non functional and knowing I can't enjoy life around me.

I'm fearful of dying of ALS and wasting away and leaving my sweet 7 year old baby boy behind growing up without his daddy.

I hate anxiety and I hate fears and health issues.
