Cancer worry from X-rays and ct scans
« on: April 12, 2014, 04:35:48 AM »
So my anxiety is not as bad as it used to be but it still bothers me at times. I'm thinking back about a lot of things I've had checked and have had lots if tests done. I've had two concussions in a year and had three ct scans from that. Also had two or three ct scans of my stomach and chest area. Have had some x rays of my stomach and three are some more times in the past year. Also I've had more ct scans and X-rays over the previous years and I can't shake the cancer worries. My dad's dad died from cancer and my dad has cancer so now I feel like I have a predisposition to it and all those tests haven't helped.

When I was worried about this what my dad told me is to imagine all of the people who DO have cancer and have to get monthly tests done that cause tons of radiation! Why would tey give someone who has cancer all that radiation if it really was that dangerous!? Wouldn't that put them at risk for abnormal cell growth in other areas? You'll be fine!!
