Worried about diabetes !
« on: April 11, 2014, 09:34:31 PM »
Been ages since I've been on here so I felt proud up and till now!
Well, I'm female and 18 currently taking loads of exams so my days are hectic.
My routines: I get to sleep (eventually) around 2:00-3:00 am. Because I worry over things then wake up soo tired...I don't have breakfast I usually skip it because when I'm studying I forget to eat...
ANYWAY. Here are a list of my symptoms:
-Drinking lots.
-Dry mouth even after drinking water.
-Scared of dying in my sleep because I'm so tired but I'm scared it's a sign I'll die in my sleep...(sounds stupid).
- Tired, fatigued...
- I have the odd dizzy spell.

I have NO family history of diabetes, I weigh 50kg (7 stone). My diet is not over the top junk food diet, I get plenty of exercise.
I've had GAD since I was 13, I'm now 18

The thing about diabetes
1) The symptoms of diabetes are not specific
2) people who do have diabetes can go literal years without showing symptoms.

It doesn't sound like you SHOULD have diabetes. But feel free to check it to easr your mind

Why not get a 20 dollar glucometer at Wal-Mart and take a fasting blood sugar in the morning?

Your odds of you having diabetes are minimal. The only way to be sure is to
have your blood tested.

Nope! I urinate like a normal person. Think it's probably just panic !

Well, urinating very frequently in large volumes is the biggest red flag - so I would say you don't have diabetes.
