Post-extraction wisdom tooth pain
« on: April 11, 2014, 08:55:18 PM »
I had my wisdom teeth removed a little over a month ago. I had dry socket but they cleared up a few weeks ago. I've noticed that now I'm getting an occasional mild pain where the teeth was removed. I was fine before so is this anything bad? It doesn't hurt enough for a dentist visit but..

Hello! I had a wisdom tooth pulled around this time last year. I did not get a dry socket but I heard those are incredibly painful! But to answer your question I did have some dull achy pain for a while afterwards. I think that's normal. I went to the dentist to get my stitches out like two weeks later and told him I was still experiencing a little pain and he didn't seem too concerned. Hope you feel better soon. :)

Try an anti-inflammatory like Motrin, and a topical numbing agent like Orajel.  I googled it, and it seems to be pretty normal, including a lot of people saying "I was fine, but it started hurting again."
